Maine Student Book Award Challenge

There are 40 nominees for the Maine Student Book Award (MSBA) for 2020 – 2021. Between now and May 1st, we challenge you to read any 7 nominees of your choosing. Browse the nominees with the Maine Student Book Award list. (As an alternative for those of you who enjoy writing reviews, you can also finish the challenge by completing a combination of nominees and reviews totaling 7.) While this Beanstack challenge is designed for students in 4th – 8th grade, anyone in 4th grade and up may participate in the Beanstack activities.

Please note this Beanstack challenge is unofficial in nature and is not connected to the official MSBA website, nor the voting process for the award.

One lucky participant of this Beanstack challenge will win a copy of the book that wins the Maine Student Book Award, provided by the York Public Library. To be eligible for a prize, participants must pick up their prize in person at the library.

The Maine Student Book Award is a readers’ choice award for students in grades 4-8. To be eligible to vote, students must have read at least 3 of the nominees. Only students in 4th – 8th grade may participate in the voting. Voting will occur in schools and public libraries around the state of Maine in May of 2021.

If you are in 4th – 8th grade you can also register for the MSBA Tournament run by Ms. Lattari at York Middle School!
