Please Join Us!

It’s February… in Maine. The days are short, cold, and dark. What better way to pick spirits up than 18 holes of INDOOR MINIATURE GOLF? And we already have the little pencils.

York Public Library is pleased to present our first mini-golf weekend with events for all ages!

Friday, February 2, 5:30 – 9:30 PM: CLUBHOUSE NIGHT

Clubhouse Night is a ticketed fundraiser for ages 21 and older, with two ways to enjoy a round of golf!

If you enjoy some friendly competition, rally a team and compete in a Tournament at 6PM. The winning team will receive the distinct honor of having their names inscribed on the Tournament Trophy – resurrected from actual Golf Tournaments that supported YPL in the early aughts.

For a more relaxed evening, sign up for Open Play at 7:30PM. You’ll still keep score, but the stakes aren’t quite so high!

When you’re not playing mini-golf, admire the course, check out our swoon worthy raffles, play a game of ping pong or cornhole, or hang out at The 19th Hole – the Community Room – for delicious catered fare from Sundrop Café; beer, wine, and a nonalcoholic signature cocktail.

Registration for both events is offered for teams of four – but you may also register as a trio, a pair, or as a single, and we will group you together into teams. What a cool way to meet new people! Both events are shotgun start with all teams starting simultaneously at different holes.

Tickets are $50 per person ($75 at the door) and two drink tickets are included. Doors open for both “Clubhouse Night” events at 5:30PM.

P.S. Need a babysitter? We’ve got you covered. Or rather, the York High School Class of 2026 has you covered. On Friday 2/2, YHS students are running a “Parents’ Night Out” babysitting fundaiser concurrently with Mini-Golf at the Library. Child care – DONE!   $20.00 for the first child and $15.00 for additional children. Offered 5-10 PM at YHS (Auditorium entrance). Movie, games, craft, and snacks provided. And you’ll be supporting the Class of 2026!  Contact Mary Banks FMI or to sign up at MBanks@yorkschools.orgThis is an independent event held at York High School.

Saturday, February 3: FREE  FAMILY FUN DAY!

Did you know Saturday, February 3 is Take your Child to the Library Day?  This day is about exploring all that your library has to offer. Today, that includes MINI-GOLF!  All ages are invited to participate for free. Hope you’ll join us for a free, fun, family day of golf. In the Library!

Questions about reservations? Contact Sophie Smith at ssmith@yorkpubliclibrary.org.

TWO WAYS TO PLAY:

Family Fun Time  |  10 am – 2 pm

Reservations are recommended so you don’t have to wait too long, but we will do our best to accommodate walk-ins too. We are so excited to share our first ever Mini-Golf at the Library event with you!

To make it as much fun as possible for everyone involved, here are some guidelines:

  • When you arrive at the Library, please check in at the Lobby to get your ball, scorecard, and club
  • For Family Fun Day, a round of Mini-Golf will be 9 holes, either upstairs in the adult area, or downstairs in the youth area. We will remind you where to head when you pick up your supplies.
  • We will limit each group to a maximum of 6 golfers to help ensure a good flow of traffic.

Sensory-Friendly Free Play |  2 – 4 pm

If your family would best succeed with a smaller crowd and a slower pace, please join us for our Sensory- Friendly time. Reservations are required for our Sensory-Friendly hours to keep numbers low. Please review the information above to see more information about the general event.

Here is how we are adjusting the event to support different sensory needs:

  • The Library will be closed to public use during this part of the event
  • Groups will be spaced further apart to allow for extra time
  • If a group needs to pause and take a break, they can return to the game when they are ready
  • There will be no background music playing
  • Lighting will be lowered
  • A Room will be provided for anyone who needs quiet space
  • A Social Story will be provided to help explain the event (coming soon).
