Mini-Golf at the Library: Family Fun Day Reservations
Saturday, February 1, 2025 | A FREE event! back to mini-golf homeWe are so excited to share our second annual Mini-Golf at the Library event with you! To make it as much fun as possible for everyone involved, please review the following instructions and guidelines.
Choose your check-in time using the signup sheet below. On Family Fun Day, a round of golf is 9 holes, either in the Upper Level (Holes 1-9) or Lower Level (Holes 10-18). Upon check in, we will direct you to either the upstairs course or downstairs course. Your group will receive a “score card” and each player will select a golf club and ball. Your group should be no more than 6 people. Please note that reservations are encouraged for Family Fun golfing, but required for sensory-friendly time (between the hours of 2pm and 4pm).
Additional Guidelines:
Family Fun (10 AM – 2 PM)
- Reservations are recommended so you don’t have to wait too long, but we will do our best to accommodate walk-ins, too.
- When you arrive at the Library, please check in at the Lobby to get your ball, scorecard, and club.
- For Family Fun Day, a round of Mini-Golf will be 9 holes, either upstairs in the adult area, or downstairs in the youth area. We will remind you where to go when you pick up your supplies.
- If you want to play both courses, please register for two timeslots below, spaced a half hour or so apart. Or, simply stop by the check-in table after you’ve finished one floor, and we’ll try to accommodate you!
- We will limit each group to a maximum of 6 golfers to help ensure a good flow of traffic.
Sensory Friendly Time (2 – 4 PM)
If your family would best succeed with a smaller crowd and a slower pace, please join us for our Sensory Friendly time. Reservations are required for this portion of the event to keep numbers lower. Please review the guidelines above to see more information about the general event.
Here is how we are adjusting the event to support different sensory needs:
- The Library will be closed to public use during this part of the event.
- Groups will be spaced further apart to allow for extra time.
- If a group needs to pause and take a break, they can return to the game when they are ready.
- Lighting will be lowered.
- The course is limited to 9 holes per family to ensure there is plenty of space for families to participate and to give groups plenty of time to get through the holes.
- The Kennebunk Room (YA Program Room opposite the Community Room) will be provided for anyone who needs to take some space.
This social story created by Librarian Lynn can help explain the event. There are also laminated copies for viewing at our circulation desks.
