Michelle:

Hot and Bothered: What No One Tells You About Menopause and How To Feel Like Yourself Again by Jancee Duncan

Holy hot flash. Women over 35 and the men who love them: if you haven’t read this book yet, get thee to the library! (1) I thought I knew it all but I’m slightly embarrassed to say I learned a lot. Some things were completely new to me and for others, the information has changed over the years as more research was conducted. (2) Jancee Dunn is a riot so it’s not only an informative read, but a funny (and fast) one too. And (3), I actually bookmarked several pages – none of which included the 4 solid pages of resources for more info – or all of the notes – that conclude the book. This librarian appreciates resources for further digging.

Barb:

Bear Finds Eggs by Karma Wilson

I love the sweet animal characters and her illustrations in all her Bear picture books.

Lynn:

The Woman in Me by Britney Spears

Some of my favorites so far for 2024 are The Woman in Me by Britney Spears, Counting the Cost by Jill Duggar, and Hey, Kiddo: How I Lost My Mother, Found My Father, and Dealt with Family Addiction by Jarrett J. Krosoczka.  Can you tell one of my goals is to read more nonfiction?

Kelly:

Jawbreaker by Christina Wyman

Kids who loved Front Desk, Wonder, or Smile will love this realistic story about 7th grader Max and her trials with bullying, friendship and family.

Devin:

Sea of Tranquility by Emily St. John Mandel

I love science fiction novels that don’t focus on the science fictiony parts! Mandel writes an amazing story about family and human connection with a backdrop of time travel, pandemics, and interstellar colonies.

Emily:

The Last Devil to Die by Richard Osman

Sophie:

American Mermaid by Julia Langbein
