None of This Is True by Lisa Jewell
Alix is out celebrating her 45th birthday and bumps into Josie, a stranger whose birthday is the same day: “birthday twins.” To Alix’s surprise, they bump into each other a few more times in a matter of days. Alix is a podcaster and in quick order, she decides to take on Josie and her story for a podcast project. And that’s where things get really weird. Twists and turns abound and I couldn’t read fast enough to see how it all ended. A quick thriller of a read!

The Familiar by Leigh Bardugo
This is the third Leigh Bardugo book I’ve read, the others being Ninth House and Hell Bent. I like her books for their fast pace and strong female leads. This particular book blends historical fiction with fantasy, a combination I am finding I really enjoy! And it is set during one of my favorite time periods, when Elizabeth I and Philip II were on the thrones of England and Spain, respectively.

The Watchmaker of Filigree Street by Natasha Pulley
The Watchmaker of Filigree Street is a blend of historical/mystery/fantasy fiction set in London in the 1880s. Mysterious events bring two character’s lives together in a very atmospheric story that will take you far away from the familiar. You’ll need an open mind and a willingness to feel lost in the London fog at times, and the story will be worth it.

Dragon Kingdom of Wrenly: Coldfire Curse by Jordan Quinn
I feel this is a great primer to fantasy graphic and chapter series and one that has many dragon adventures.
