YOUTH SERVICES LIBRARY ASSISTANT (PART-TIME)
York Public Library is seeking a friendly and dependable Youth Services Library Assistant to staff the Library’s public service areas. The winning candidate must possess excellent customer service and interpersonal skills; be technologically savvy, self-motivated, detail-oriented; and be able to perform duties effectively. A desire to work with children, tweens and teens, as well as their caregivers, is essential.
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is preferred. A high school diploma (or equivalent) and applicable work experience may be substituted. Experience in a library setting is highly desirable.
This position is for 25-28 hours per week, with additional shifts available as needed by staffing. The schedule will include 2 evenings per week and 1-2 Saturdays per month. Compensation starting range is from $20.04-$22.87 per hour, dependent upon experience.
This position includes paid leave and a generous deferred compensation plan with 6.5% matching funds; employee is eligible for the matching funds upon working a minimum of 1000 hours in one calendar year.
