Young Adults (YA!)
Teens in 7th – 12th grade
York Public Library offers a variety of materials, study resources, fun programs and spaces specifically for teens. Get personalized book suggestions, charge your device, use the wi-fi and meet up with friends after school. The Program Room is an active area featuring games (yes – sometimes there is ping pong), activities and wall space to showcase your art. The Reading Room (under the stairs) is for quiet study and reading (naturally).
Programs
York Public Library offers a variety of programs for young adults in 7th – 12th grade like art, gaming, cooking, and more. Take a look at our event calender to see what is happening now! We always have drop-in activities, art supplies and games for you to enjoy. Each month there is a new scavenger hunt for you to discover as well. Sometimes there are prizes. You could win a fuzzy pet worm, a sticker for your water bottle, a fake mustache. You never know what we might have in store for you!
Volunteer
We would love your help! Do you love the library? We are always looking for great teen volunteers to join our team. There are lots of fun ways to earn volunteer hours and give back to the community at York Public Library. YA volunteer tasks might include shelving, shelf reading, light dusting, program help, book reviews, special projects and more!
e-Library
The e-Library offers a number of online resources to entertain and help with school. Stream movies on Hoopla, read a comic book on ComicsPlus, learn a new language, enjoy e-books and e-audiobooks on the CloudLibrary or, access free databases for middle school or high school .
